Early 2016 - Events & News

There is a lot of blogging to be doing...it was great to be part of the Shining Through Shadows Benefit which raised a lot of money to help support education!! Thanks to Susie and Kimmi Stark for all your efforts and friendship!

This nice gentleman let us use his 1968 Plymouth Satellite for the "Make me a Satellite" music video we just filmed. Excited for you all to see the video as it will be out soon! It was magical how multiple elements of nature came together perfectly on film.

I'll be releasing some songs soon to help promote environmental awareness. Everyone together can make a difference so be sure to clean up and purify the land. Hope to see you soon my friends.

I hope you all saw the article we had in music connection this month! It hit shelves at Guitar Centers and Barnes & Nobles across the country. Check the online live review here www.musicconnection.com/2015/10/27/live-review-sam-sims-at-red-bank-river-fest/

It's been a great month with performances in a variety of venues. Last night, friday 10/30, was a classic event at the Von Braun Center Playhouse. Thanks to Jim Parker for hosting the songwriter series and thanks to the great writers that participated in the event (Lenny LeBlanc, Anthony Skinner, & Jess Cates).

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Just a Few Thoughts

If there wasn't a good reason to play music I wouldn't be doing it. I've loved to write songs for many years now..eventually I realized there had to be a bigger cause. Releasing some great songs for you to hear is one of my top priorities! The music will spread positive messages, encourage unbiased education, and bring awareness to help our ecosystem (among other things).

Check out Music Connection Magazine (October edition - pictured above). Available online - or - on shelves in Guitar Center and Barnes & Noble.

Happy Holidays from the Sam Sims band!

Fall Progressions

Aloha friends, it has been an interesting time in the island making new friends. I recently got to chat with Fred Kamaka (one of the ukulele Grandfathers) and play with a Grammy Winning artist in Honolulu.

Meanwhile, my good friend Dimitris (percussion player in the band) has had some amazing experiences....in his words: "Surfers, restaurants and others in Samara have embraced the music including people from Austria, Germany, San Salvador, Guatemala and business owners from Sweden now living in Samara. The music is travelling throughout Central America and starting to "swim" throughout the world. Aloha, Dimitris"

New songs are soon ready for release and I'm working with a new Label/Publisher 'Acoustic Soul Entertainment Group'. It's really an exciting time. My only wish at this point is to get more music to you all as soon as possible!

Hope it was a great thanksgiving. Let's all be thankful for what we have and stay blessed.

Love,

Sam

Hawaii Five-0 Fanbook - Short Version

Summertime & September

Aloha dear friends.. in this overdue post I'd really like to thank everyone that helped make this summer amazing!! We played some great shows in a variety of different locations to include Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and New Jersey. I think this music will continue to grow and grow and find its path to the right people. Discovering more everyday that this music is helping people to be happy is the best reward an artist could ever receive!

After some necessary delays, The new album "Breathe" is almost ready! We also have a new video or two to go along with it! I truly feel this next album will be the best yet and I'm so excited for you to hear it!

Did I mention September is one of my favorite months! It's also good surf season!

Until we meet again..

Much Love,

Sam

Summer Tour

We just had a great time playing in Washington DC, Virginia, and North Carolina! From the venues to the house concerts (that were amazing), I want to say thank you to all of the people that supported us on the tour! Until next time I'll say aloha for now and hope everyone is having a great summer! Best, Sam

Happy Halloween

It was a great time playing down in Key West during the Fantasy Fest. We plan to be back there at some point in the near future. Thanks goes out to Beth Rooney for all the support and also to the Hovlands for their awesome support! Also thanks goes out to Kimberly, Senor Matteo, Enzo, Ian, and Nero. Thanks to all of you for helping make it a successful mini-tour in the tropics. Now gearing up to have a great Halloween at Pazzo in Red Bank. Music starts up at 7:30 tonight! Aloha

Oktoberfest

Be Now

I came along way lyrically today. It really went somewhere after days of hearing the same melody over and over in my head. I was so excited about the new song that was turned upside down and inside out until it finally shook out. After a few different guitar arrangements the ukulele was calling in the end. And I actually had the dog eating some of my orange today! Yes that is random but it also may mean life is what you want it to be and you can surprise yourself everyday.

Harvest Moon

September...It's that time of year that's totally magic! Though I'm a better musician than magician. I saw the harvest moon tonight. Of course Neil Young popped into my head but then I thought about what an amazing summer it has been. The music has been great. We sure played a lot of gigs but a friend once told me this was only the beginning and another friend once told me the best is yet to come. I think that is a good life motto. Live in the present but you got to be looking forward to something. Maybe it is the nice waves we have been having, walking around on the longboard, or feeling the perfect fall breeze. I just found out today that whales are off our coast. I actually was not surprised, but we need to do our part to keep the ocean, rivers, beaches, and mountains clean. Oh yeah, I was writing about music...I just wanted to say that we got some new T-Shirts made and if you come out to the concert (or bar/restaurant..LOL) we can hook you up! Hope to see you soon. Namaste.
