Sam Sims: Neon Signs

Message from Sam

I want to wish everyone a great summer! I will be done with a new EP pretty soon and I'm am real excited about it. Older songs have had great reviews so far and some are being played a little on the air. Nothing major but it's cool that people like the songs enough to play them on their stations.  I'd like to thank MR. Greg Smith for playing percussion and hitting some cool vocals. Thanks also goes out to the management (Alex and Brendan), and the photographers (Linda and Danielle).

Aloha,
Sam

Sam on the beachOther Thoughts: Music becomes pure when you get rid of all the other aspects...real songs ultimately flow out of your soul. Being open-minded to new ideas is critical to the creation of global unification. Love will make the world a better place and helping people is the overall goal. Music always varies with emotion, there are unlimited possibilities, and there is always some new aspect to be learned.

New Album "Neon Signs"

The new album is full of heart warming and evocative lyrics, and melodies to accompany Sam’s strong musical voice and first-rate band of musicians. Neon Signs features many of Sam’s most popular live songs including "Hula girl" and "Spread your love."

CDs and downloads available world wide from CDBaby, iTunes, and DigStation.

About Sam Sims

Sam felt an extreme inspiration to start making music when he started songwriting at age 14. The songs written and performed by Sam represent an eclectic mix with various overtones played on the guitar, ukulele, and harmonica. Sam is influenced by a variety of musical styles including folk-rock, reggae, blues, Hawaiian, slack key, alt-rock, and bluegrass. Natural aspects, spiritual connections, and  cultural ideology play a key role in the songwriting. The compositions are written as a window for love and peace, and are targeted to all listeners...

A few of Sam's musical influences are Robert Johnson, The White Buffalo, Pearl Jam, Robert Bradley, Tracy Chapman, IZ, Willie Nelson, Nick Drake, Ben Harper, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Jack Johnson, and many of the local musicians from the Jersey Shore.
